Soy Footprint Calculator

This tool has been developed by RTRS to support actors of the soy value chain in calculating and understanding their soy footprint

Welcome to the Soy Footprint Calculator.

This tool can help you to calculate your soy footprint. Whether you buy food products for human consumption, animal feed, soy products (soy oil, soy meal, hull pellet, etc.) or soybeans. To see your footprint:

  1. Select the type of product
  2. Select the appropriate unit for each row you are using
  3. Enter values (selecting retail or carcass weight where appropriate)
  4. Select 'soy footprint' to see your soy footprint
  5. Select 'clear' if you wish to clear all values entered

Soybean Equivalent (Economic Allocation)

-- tonnes*

This is how many tonnes of soybeans are required considering the multiple products each soybean produces.
Example: if you purchase soya hulls, this is how many soybeans are needed to meet your demand considering the value of the meal and oil that may also be produced.

Soybean Equivalent (Demand Allocation)

-- tonnes*

This is how many tonnes of soybeans are needed to make your products. This excludes any value or use of by-products beyond your specifc product needs.
Example: if you purchase soya hulls, this is how many soybeans are needed to meet your demand ignoring the value of the meal and oil that also be produced.

*How are number written? Thousands are separated with a comma (,) and decimals with a dot (.)
